Stunning antique wooden box with a complete set of surgical tools. The case was made for military use and contains a series of foldable trays with all types of metal instruments and tools designed to perform surgical operations in the battlefield. This singular piece is more than one hundred years old: it is dated circa 1900 and remains in fine condition. The box and the instruments are old-time pieces, attractive and original and worthy of inclusion in the collection of a museum. The box is a sturdy solid-walnut-wooden suitcase, in amazing condition and with its original complete metalwork. It is reinforced in order to stand the wars hardship: it preserves the metal corners, fine embedded side handles and even the original lock and key. The key is in working order and makes it possible to lock the box so it can be safely carried. At the sides we can also see two fine metal hooks embedded in delicate hand-carved gaps, a fine and reliable shutting system that reinforces the locks action. Inside the box contains three foldable trays that stand over the box when opened. The trays are connected by metal strips directly screwed to the wood. The trays have been carefully carved with tool-shaped forms so the pieces can be perfectly stored; this way, the user can check if there is a tool missing with just one look. The tool set is composed of dozens of different pieces: tweezers, scissors, scalpels, hooks, spatulas They are all original from the period and remain in great condition.
