The box is in perfect condition, without scratches or breaks, and with the fabric and the holes for the lenses in perfect condition. All lenses are incredibly well preserved and none are missing. At first what was used to correct vision defects was what is known as a spectacle or monocle, but when, after the invention of the printing press, reading became more common, the demand for lenses in order to see better increased considerably. It would not be until the 18th century, and thanks to Benjamin Franklin, when the first bifocal glasses were born, in which both myopia and hyperopia lenses could be mounted. Piece at the height of a professional in the field, which undoubtedly will appreciate the value of this box of lenses, perfect for a small collection in the showcase of his office.
