This curious instrument is a French inclinometer made circa 1915 and keeps all its original parts, coming into a beautiful box made of solid tropical wood. Inclinometers are instruments designed to measure the degree of inclination of a plane. Used in surveying. Both the device and its box are in very good condition and make up a greatly decorative set, as well as an interesting piece. The instrument keeps all its original parts, very well preserved. It has a telescope, a bubble levels, a vertical scale arc and an eyepiece. It is attached to a base with a parallel rule that has two measuring scales, one on each side. The set has a black-lacquered finish with silvery metal and brass parts, such as the scale arc and the rules scales. Although this instrument shows some slight signs or wear due to the use and the trace of time, as a whole the inclinometer looks very attractive and is in surprisingly good condition considering its ancient age: it is almost one hundred years old.The scale bears the serial number engraved in the black-lacquered metal: 10142. We can also see two initials, M.G. On the other hand, in the telescope we can distinguish the following inscription: E. DERONZI & Cie. GENTILLY SEINE, the name and location of the French manufacturing company that made and commercialized this instrument. The box where the inclinometer is stored is also very beautiful: it is made of solid tropical wood with a nice light brown color and dark veneers. This case also has some metal screws and locks that provide it with a greater aesthetical and functional attractive.Measurements: Width: 470 mm. Height: 108 mm.
