Stunning antique telephone made in France in 1937, in amazing condition and with all its original pieces and component parts. This telephone is model 1910 and was used to make and receive telephone calls: it is a fully operative and original device. Currently the telephone cannot be connected to the phone line as it is an ancient model, designed to work with a switchboard. Nevertheless, it is an outstanding and decorative piece that will provide any room with a very special touch. The box sits on four solid chromed-metal legs and is made of solid wood. The wood boasts a lovely reddish brown color and nice dovetail joints at the corners. Inside the box we can see the telephones delicate and complex wiring: all the components are original and remain in excellent condition. There is also a crank to call the switchboard; it is attached to one of the boxs sides. In order to reach the wiring, the top can be lifted as it is connected to the box by hinges. Screwed to the top of the box there is a chrome-plated metal switch hook where the handset rests. The handset is made of chromed metal too and has a black bakelite handle. We can see the following inscription engraved in the metal: PROPRIETÉ DE LETAT LE CONSTRUCTEUR, indicating that this was a state-owned telephone. The metal device to which the phone cord is connected bears this inscription too, as well as the serial number Nº 2811 and the manufacturing date: ADJon. 1927. As beautiful as evocative, this fine antique telephone will stand out in the most stylish living room or study.
