Antique phonograph made by French company Pathé in 1915. This rare article is not only a beautiful piece, but also provides a perfect working and an inimitable quality of reproduction. Pathé is a French group which comprises several companies in the field of cinema and audio reproduction. This brand was founded in Paris in 1896, under the name of Société Pathé Frères (Pathé Brothers Company), and it became the most outstanding cinema and audio firm in the world. Curiously enough, in 1902 the company bought the patents of the Lumiére brothers, the famous cinema pioneers. This phonograph joins its extreme simplicity to its great reproduction quality, quite remarkable if we consider the age of the device. It consists of a rectangular box made of solid wood and with nice dovetail joints, and a wide aluminum horn in good condition and with no traces of pitting. To operate the phonograph the cover must be removed: the motor is attached to the inside of the cover. Then it must be put on the box with the motor upwards so the horn can be connected. The box keeps the original metal handle, hinges and shutting hooks. The motor is in great condition and perfect working order. It provides a wonderful sound that any lover of music will be able to appreciate, and has all its original components. In the reproducer we can see the famous logo of the brand, consisting of a cocks profile. On one side of the motor we can see the serial number engraved in the metal: 20045. It is just beside the leather strap. The phonograph comes with one cilynder. It is undoubtedly an excellent vintage piece from the beginning of the 20th century, perfect to decorate any room and to enjoy the authentic sound of a historical phonograph. Measurements: 193 mm width (box) x 480 mm total width x 260 mm diameter (horns mouth).
