This valve AEG radio is characteristic of the age it was made: the 40s decade of the 20th century. It is a beautiful Spanish radio from those times, with the classic aesthetic of the forties and which combines beauty and vintage charm. The radio is rectangular-shaped and is made of plywood covered by walnut wood. The front is made of hardwood and is surrounded by a molded frame, painted in beige. At the upper side of the front we find the rectangular opening for the speaker, covered by silk sackcloth. The radio has also a big dial in which we can distinguish the names of the countries whose stations can be tuned. Just under the dial we can see the logo of AEG brand. At the front there are also two bakelite knobs and a glass-covered magic eye. The rear is completely renewed. It can be removed to reach the mechanisms, and it has an opening through which we can see a metal plate with details about the radio. The name of the brand (AEG Ibérica de Electicidad SA, Madrid), the number of license (3A), the fabrication number (56370) and the number of valves (5) can be read on the plate. The radio works perfectly at 125V, and includes a free 125-220V transformer to connect it to current electrical wiring. Radio measurements: 545 mm width x 420 mm height.
