Striking Antique Silver Monstrance with Real Diamonds. Spain, Circa 1950

Striking antique silver monstrance with real diamonds, made in Spain circa 1950 and in good condition. This monstrance stands out for the quality of the materials it is made of, but also for its rare and special design which makes it stand out among similar pieces of the same era. The upper cross and the central window of the lunette are adorned with real diamonds, all of them original. There is no one missing. The pearls which decorate the sunburst are artificial, but anyway they provide the design with a delicate touch. The circular foot is supported by four lion-shaped gilt silver legs. It is decorated with engraved geometrical motifs and has two hallmarks. Inside it has a counterweigh, essential to stabilize the monstrance. The stem is crowned by the figure of an angel with open wings. The sunburst is a spectacular piece, with four engraved and embossed medallions which contain the symbols of the Four Evangelist: the angel, the bull, the lion and the eagle. In the center we can see the original lunette. For its rare design and its rich quality, this striking antique silver monstrance with real diamonds is worthy of inclusion in the best collection of sacred silverwork.
