Antique John Davis & Son anemometer made in England in the early 20th century, in fine condition and in working order. This piece, a delicate pocket instrument full of charm and personality, comes in its original solid-wooden case and is as attractive as interesting. It is made of brass, iron and metal sheet and preserves all its original component parts and pieces in great condition. The dial is encased in a brass body supported by three slim legs over a black iron circular base. The helix is connected to the brass body by two metal brackets; it is compose by an axis connected to eight fan blades. The axis is also wielded to an iron ring that frames the fan blades and connects the helix to the anemometer. The dial bears six secondary hands printed on the white background; among them we can see the manufacturers name and location: JOHN DAVIS & SON (DERBY) LTD. The storing case where this delicates instrument is stored bears solid fine artisanal dovetail joints and preserves the original shutting hook. Reliable and charming, this fascinating antique pocket anemometer will delight any lover of turn-of-the-century science-related pieces. Measurements: Width: 2.56 in / 6.5 cm. Height: 2.75 in / 7 cm.
