Lovely compass set, complete and in its original solid wooden box. The set comes from France and was made circa 1900, so it is currently more than one century old. This is a professional item that contains a gorgeous compass set with no pieces missing. The set also contains two antique protractors, one of them made of golden brass. As well as being a highly quality article that can still be used to draw plans, this is a beautiful piece perfect to decorate a desk or table. The set is composed of thirteen utensils and contains compasses of different sizes, bow compasses, interchangeable pieces and a lovely drawing-pen with bone handle. We can include the protractors stated before too. The drawing utensils are made of stainless steel and remain in optimal condition they show no signs of rust or wear and keep all the original screws and component parts. They are all stored in a solid wooden tray covered of vivid pink velvet, with compartments for every item. The case where this amazing compass set is stored is made of solid rosewood. It is original from the period and is quite well preserved. The removable tray with the compasses and the accessories fits perfectly into the box. Fitted to the inside of the cover there is a removable pink padded plate; behind it, a pink fabric band holds the protractors in their place. Outside, the case shows off the striking rosewood surface with its dark brown background and typical black veneer. In the center of the cover there is an embedded rectangular brass plate. Complete, antique and really beautiful, this compass set is a magnificent piece that every lover of technical drawing will appreciate. Measurements: Width: 8 in / 20.5 cm. Depth: 4.7 in / 12 cm.
