This theodolite, made in the early 20th century by RA Stainless in Wien is a beautiful and original measurement article, made of black-lacquered metal and brass. The theodolite is in good condition, showing only slight signs of wear which provide even more interest and charm to the piece. It works well and the possibility of using it is a plus to its undeniable attractive. It goes on a base with three adjustable legs, which provides enough stability as to accomplish the measuring tasks, and it has also a nice field tripod made of wood and metal, belonging to the same period. The device keeps all its controls, gears and screws in good condition. The bubble capsules which show the level are also complete, and they are essential to guarantee the accuracy of the measurements. Engraved in the black metal we can see an inscription with the name of the brand, the city and the serial number: R&A Rost Wien Nº 3890. On the other hand, the tripod which accompanies the theodolite is also in very good condition. It has three slim wooden legs with metal part, and it also retains the brass plumb that hangs from the center. Theodolites are topographers instruments that are also used nowadays. Its function is to measure angles and establish distances, and they are essential for engineering and architectural works.
