Delicate antique compass set in very good condition, complete and in its original case. The set is composed of different metal utensils, some of them with bone handle. It remains in good condition, with scarcely any traces of rust. The bone handles are remarkably well preserved. The metal shows off a delicate age patina. The compass set is composed of sixteen pieces whose good condition makes it possible to use them to perform designs and technical drawings. The case shows the compasses, bow compasses and drawing pens well organized in their corresponding places. In order to accomplish this, the box contains a molded base with gaps shaped like each one of the tools. The set contains compasses of different sizes and shapes, accessories to extend or modify them, bow compasses with their original gears and screws, fine drawing pens with bone handles and small metal sleeves for leads and needles. The cover of the box contains a blue satin-lined plate; if we remove it we will discover two die-cut metal plates with differently-shaped holes. The case is outside covered by a brown faux-leather lining. Inside, the box shows a blue velvet covering; the cover contains the blue plate stated before. The lining is well preserved and shows no remarkable signs of wear. Outside, the cover bears a metal plate with an engraved inscription: J. GRANT 1927. This name can also be seen handwritten in an inside label. The case is in good condition and preserves the hinges and lock in working order. Complete and full of charm, this compass set from the 1st quarter of the 20th century will delight every lover of study-related antiques. Measurements: Width: 8.07 in / 20.5 cm. Depth: 5.1 in / 13 cm.
