This amazing calculator is a Brunsviga 13 RK made in Germany in the 1950s. This model is highly appreciated by the collectors of classic arithmometers, and provides a soft and efficient operation. The machine is in excellent condition, showing off its nice and well-preserved golden hammered finish. The mobile parts are made of silvery metal and look shiny and polished; on the other hand, the dark red bakelite knobs and handles shine like the first day of use. In spite of being more than sixty years old, this calculating machine is as decorative and functional as when it came out of the factory.Brunsviga is the market name of a series of pinwheel calculators with mechanisms based in the Odhner system. In 1892, Willgodt T. Odhner sold his calculating machines patent rights to Grimme, Natalis & Co. A.G. of Braunschweig (Germany). The company started manufacturing this kind of calculators under the name Brunsviga, and later took on the name of the product. Between 1892 and 1912, more than 20.000 units were sold. Curiously enough, in 1959 Brunviga was merged with Olympia Werke, a typewriters manufacturer. This particular model, the Brunsviga 13 RK calculator, started being produced in 1950. The machine is able to perform the four fundamental arithmetic operations - addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. At the calculators front, to the left of the digit levers we can see a triangular metal plate with the name and logo of the brand. If we turn the machine upside down, at its base we will find another two plates: one with the models name and the other with the engraved serial number 13-77732.All these details turn this delightful calculator into a highly interesting and charming item: a fascinating machine, very attractive and working like new.Measurements: Width: 280 mm.
