The firm was founded in 1900 as a vacuum-tube manufactured. In 1904 Otto Holzapfel, a mechanic from Brunsviga, started working in the Leipzig factory and the firm started producing calculators under the brand name Triumphator. The company introduced many improvements that enhanced pinwheel calculators performance.
