This striking article is a drawing set with tools for professional or semi professional use. The tools come in their original case and have remained in quite good condition. The set was made in England in the 1920s/30s and probably belonged to an engineer, architect or a draftsman or to a university student. The pieces are made of steel and preserve all their component parts. The set contains drawing-pens, standard compasses and bow compasses of different kinds and sizes, as well as a metal cylinder containing leads and a brass protractor. The compasses and bow compasses are greatly preserved and can be perfectly used to draw circles and take measures. The tools are organized in their different compartments inside the case the protractor remains hidden inside the box, secured by a metal plate screwed to the box. The case is made of leather-covered wood with blue velvet and felt insider. It is also in good condition; the velvet looks bright and rich. Inside the lid we can see a golden inscription printed in the middle of the velvet lining. It shows the manufacturers name and address: B. J. Hall & Co. This was a drawing and office material manufacturing company founded by Benjamin James Hall (1865-1934). Hall is considered to be the designer of the first practical electric copying machine. This amazing drawing set is a historic piece, very attractive and perfect for an architect or draftsman who loves his or her profession and antique pieces too. Measurements (Open): Width: 7.7 in / 20 cm. Height: 12.13 in / 31 cm.
