Beautiful Continental Typewriter in Very Good Condition. Germany, 1930's

This beautiful vintage typewriter is a collector's item, due to its excellent condition and working order. It is a Continental Standard typewriter manufactured in Germany in the 1930s, whose design was a classic in its time. The piece is particularly striking for the magnificent condition in which it is found: the black enamel is smooth, shiny and regular, and the golden letters with the name of the brand and the data about the manufacturing company stand out in excellent condition. The machine also retains the original keyboard complete and in perfect working order, as well as all the moving parts made of chrome-plated and enameled metal.Continental Standard typewriters were designed and produced by Wanderer Fahrradwerke, a German company that at the end of the 19th century was dedicated to manufacturing motorcycles and industrial milling machines. In 1904 they launched their first typewriter, the Continental Standard: the design became so popular that the company focused its efforts on improving and developing the machine, which was marketed in different versions until the 1940s. In the model we can see in the pictures, the name of the brand, the company and the logo can be seen on the front, printed in golden letters: CONTINENTAL - WANDERER WERKE. The location of the factory is also written: SIEGMAR - SCHÖNAU.This typewriter has a keyboard made up of circular pieces, with black background (red on two of the side keys) and white symbols. Each key is surrounded by the classic nickel-plated ring.
