With black-enameled cast-iron body and white keyboard, this typewriter boasts a beautiful design that turns it into an extremely decorative item. Stoewer company was founded in Germany in 1858 by Berhnard Stoewer to produce sewing machines. Between 1893 and 1806 the factory widened its production including bicycles, typewriters, cars, trucks and buses. The production was divided in two different branches, one for automotive product and the other for bicycles and typewriters. The first Stoewer typewriter was designed by Paul Grützman in 1903. The company kept active until 1945, when it disappeared after having been dismantled by the government of East Germany. This typewriter is a Stoewer Record, one of the most popular models produced by the company. The machine preserves the decals and inscriptions in very good condition, complete and with bright and vivid colors. Over the carriage we can see the companys name in big white lettering and over the keyboard lays the models market name, Stoewer Record, flanked by groups of four medals. The keyboard is composed of white keys with black letters and is in strikingly good condition. At the back of the typewriter there is a metal plated with the engraved serial number 80 875. Antique, decorative and functional, this Stoewer Record typewriter will draw anyones attention in the most elegant study or living room.
