Stunning Brunsviga 13 pinwheel calculator in working order, very well preserved and really decorative. This calculator is original from the 1920s, and was made in Germany. It can be used to perform the four basic arithmetic operations (addition, subtraction, multiplication and division) with reliable results. The machine preserves all its original component parts and pieces; they all work in a fluid and soft way. It is a beautiful and functional item, designed to stand out on a desk or a shelf. At the front of the calculator we can see the brand name BRUNSVIGA in two different places. At the top of the machine, to the left of the digits we can see the brand name engraved in the metal, accompanied by the logo printed on a small oval metal plate. The name is repeated below, together with the model and the serial number: BRUNSVIGA 13 157505. To the right, another inscription shows the manufacturing companys name: Brunsviga Maschinenwerke Grimme, Natalis & C.O. A-G. Brunsviga emerged when the sewing machine company Grimme, Natalis & Co. bought the patent rights for Odhners arithmometer. The calculators reached such success that Odhner had to add the word Original to his calculators in order to distinguish them from his competitors. The calculating machine that we can see in these images stands on four circular legs and shows a solid and reliable look. It mounts silvery-metal mobile parts, well preserved and with only slight signs of the trace of time that provide the calculator with a charming patina. The black enamel that covers the case looks shiny and even, and the white numbers and decals are perfectly legible. This antique Brunsviga calculator will delight every lover of ancient machines and turn-of-the-century industrial design.
