Antique German calculator from the beginning of the 20th century, made by Lindström Records in 1913. This is a rare machine because it uses a key system instead of slots and levers. Its operation is based on Leibnitz scaled cylinder mechanism, and it can perform adds, subtractions, multiplications and divisions. In spite of its ancient age, this calculator works perfectly and can be used as if it were new. It is also in good condition, showing only some signs of the trace of time which in no way affect to its antique charm and working order. Lindström Record was founded as Carl Lindström A. G. in 1893 by Carl Lindström, a Swedish inventor living in Berlin. It originally produced music reproducers such as gramophones and phonographs, such as the popular Parlophon. It became the holding company for Odeon Records, Parlophone Records and Okeh Records. Eventually Lindström sold his company to Max Straus, Odeon co-founder. This calculator has a complete keyboard and there are some English inscriptions engraved in the metal, intended to help the user select the different operations. To the left of the keyboard we can see the name of the company in white lettering, forming a fine logo. Under the keyboard, at the front of the machine, there is a relief inscription painted gold which says: General Vertrieb Deutsche RONEO Ges. m. b. H. BERLIN SW 68 Kockstraße 32. The paint is slightly washed out, but the inscription is clearly readable. One more detail which turns this calculator into a very interesting article, which any lover of vintage mechanic pieces will love to own. Measurements: 410 mm width x 180 mm height.
