Antique Lipsia 1 mechanical calculator, made in Germany circa 1920 and with original storing case and key. The machine is in fine condition and great working order. Of the two versions of this model which were produced, this is the first and the oldest one. The name Lipsia is the Latin name of Leipzig, the city where the O. Holzapfel & Co. Factory was located. This was the company which manufactured the calculators. The one which we can see in the images mounts a black-lacquered metal casing with the brand name engraved at the left, painted white and diagonally disposed. At the digits position, the lacquered finish is worn for the use. This feature, though, only provides the calculator with charm and character we must remember that it is a piece nearly 100 years old. The oak-wooden base is in great condition and connects perfectly with the case. The curved cover is made of oak wood too and mounts a sturdy metal side handle, perfect to transport the machine. At the cover we can see the Lipsia name in big silver and gold lettering. In excellent working order and entirely original, this antique Lipsia 1 mechanical calculator is bound to belong to a great collection or to a person with a passion for authentic pieces.
