This calculating machine is a Triumphator Model C, and was made in Germany in 1927. Is spite of its ancient age it works perfectly, and can easily perform the four basic operations: addition, subtraction, multiplication and division. Triumphator GmbH company was founded in 1907 by Soll and Holzapfer, after they improved classical Odhner calculators and patented the improvements. The Triumphator patent was transferred to Boleslaus Benas in 1912. Triumphator calculators became very popular because of their improvements, and were produced until 1965. Their best features were the upper windows for the digits introduced by the user (which reduces the possibility of making a mistake), the ten-digit mechanism and the outside crank to reset the counter. This nice calculator is in very good condition and wonderful working order. Its noble look is highly remarkable, with its black-lacquered body and the great number of digit lines, cranks and gears it boasts. There are also different white inscriptions in the metal, such as the name (logo) of the brand, the upper medal with a classical figure and the name and address of the company. We can see some inscriptions which indicate the calculators functions, being especially interesting the small crank which lets the user change the machines function from multiplication to division. The machine seats on a thick and solid plank made of oak wood. The oaks attractive golden brown tone and deep veneer provide this piece with a remarkable beauty. At the front of the plank we can see the fitting which connects it to the covers lock, so the machine can be covered and protected. The cover is the original one and so is the key which operates the lock. On the cover we can see the name and logo Triumphator in big golden letters and it also keeps the original hand-sewn leather handle. This calculating machine with its original cover is very attractive and especial, and is an article full of history and charm which will delight any lover of vintage machines.
