Beautiful antique microscope in working order. This instrument was made in England circa 1900 and has survived to our days in excellent condition. It is a very complete item that comes in its original wooden case with its corresponding accessories. The microscope works fine and can be used to examine samples. All its component parts are original and so are the black enamel finish that covers the foot and the transparent lacquer which protects the brass pieces. The microscope mounts a 2-lens revolving nosepiece and an oscillating mirror original from the time. In the cast-iron foot we can see the engraved manufacturers name, W. JOHNSON & SONS LONDON, and the serial number 999. The same name appears in the lenses that can be stored in their brass sleeves. These sleeves bear the same inscription engraved in their lids, together with the lenss size, in a fine cursive lettering. The lenses with their sleeves and the eyepiece can be stored in a wooden stand attached to the left of the wooden case. Inside the case we can also see a small wooden drawer designed to store the sample plates. It contains some original samples and also some unused ones. The case where the microscope can be stored is made of mahogany wood, with a wonderful reddish color and preserving the original finish. It keeps the original lock and key in perfect working order and also the top handle designed to carry the instrument. Its lovely design and excellent condition turn this beautiful antique microscope into an object of desire for the most demanding collectors. Measurements: Width: 6.6 in/17 cm. Height: 13.7 in/35 cm.
