Amazing antique microscope made by the prestigious optic material manufacturer E. Leitz Wetlzar in 1925. The microscope comes from Germany and is in excellent condition and working order. It comes in its original wooden case and is accompanied by a complete set of accessories. The item is numbered and signed in the turret and the objectives, and comes with a micrometrical adjustment system for the samples. This device can be attached to the sample plate and used to move the samples with pinpoint accuracy. It comes in its own case and is a very attractive case that increases the microscopes interest. The turret bears the engraved inscription Ernst leitz Wetzlar Nº 210551, corresponding to the manufacturers name and serial number. This firm was founded by Karl Kellner in 1845, under the name of Optical Institute of Wetlzar. In 1865 they hired the engineer Ernst Leitz who four years later would take control of the company and changed the market name by his own. The company grew exponentially and became one of the most important optical material manufacturers in the world. They produced magnificent microscopes just like this one, and other famous items such as the Leica cameras (abbreviation of Leitz Camera). In this microscope, the Ernst Leitz name can be seen in the three lenses of the revolving nosepieces, the macrometrical adjustment device and the label located inside the cases door. As well as the information about the lenses and eyepieces, this label also bears the serial number and date of manufacture of the instrument written by hand. Inside the case we find a small wooden box with colored filters and unused glass plates. The case is made of solid wood, with a nice golden color and in quite good condition. It boasts dovetail joints and keeps the original handle and the lock and key in working order. This stunning Leitz microscope is a real collectors piece, as complete as interesting. Any lover of quality antiques will find an exceptional item in it. Measurements: Width: 6.2 in/16 mm. Height: 13.5 in/34.5 mm.
