This great compound-microscope accessory set is an antique item, complete and with a high interest for every collector. This piece was made circa 1880 and remains in excellent condition. The set includes four lenses in their respective metal sleeves, two eyepieces, a capsule to watch live specimens, forceps, several shutter discs and a bull's eye lens with a brass stand. It is a professional set, quite beautiful and especially well preserved.The pieces are made of golden brass, glass and iron. Most utensils are made of brass: the metal looks good and preserves the lovely patina typical of antique items. The iron elements are black and remain well preserved too, with no traces of rust or corrosion. As for the glasses and the lenses, they are original and remain in wonderful condition. The lenses are protected by cylindrical brass sleeves with lids.The set includes a pair of forceps too, a slim pointed tool used to watch samples that cannot be put on glass plates: leaves, plants, insects The capsule for live specimens is composed of a brass plate with a central hollow cylinder with a glass lid on top. All these fascinating articles come into a beautiful solid mahogany case, in great condition.Measurements: Width: 9.4 in / 24 cm. Depth: 8.6 in / 22 cm.
