Complete antique brass microscope with more than one hundred years old and in very good condition. This microscope was probably made in France or Germany and is dated around 1870. It comes with a set of sample plates, preserved in their original paper sleeves and properly labeled. The microscope is made of brass and is quite well preserved; it is also in excellent working order. It comes in its original storing case, a beautiful solid-mahogany wooden box in very good condition too. The microscopes different component parts and pieces are made of brass. The metal looks great and preserves the original protecting transparent lacquer, a finish that provides its surface with a lovely patina and enhances its golden shine. The magnifying glass connected to the turret by an articulated arm is the original one, and so is the oscillation mirror located under the sample plate. Last but not least, the storing case is a sober and delicate high-quality piece. It preserves the original shutting hooks and hinges, all made of brass. Inside the cover there is a padded blue-velvet lining that protects the microscope against wear. This antique microscope is a great example of the quality precision instruments made in the late 19th century. Measurements: Width: 2.3 in / 6 cm. Height: 7.8 in / 20 cm.
