The microscope comes in its original storing box, made of solid mahogany wood and with beautiful artisanal dovetail joints. It also includes a set with 4 eyepieces and 3 objectives, all of them signed by the maker. The microscopes design responds to the classic early-20th-century aesthetic, with black-lacquered metal horseshoe foot and brass top part. The lacquer is in great condition, and so are the double-sided mirror and the sample plate. The top part includes a three-lens revolving nosepiece; all the brass component parts keep the original transparent finish which provides them with a fine old-time patina. KORITSKA MILANO, and the serial number 32122 engraved on its front side. The lenses and their sleeves bear the engraved brand name too. This antique Italian Koritska microscope stands out for its classic design, good condition and authentic feel. Dimensions: Width: 4.71 in / 12 cm. Depth: 5.91 in / 15 cm. He was a Polish entrepreneur who went to Milan to start his own project. In a few years, the company became one of the most important microscope manufacturers; they were one of the few which exported their production to the rest of Europe and America. The firm started out under as the Mechanical Optics f. Onward. Thanks to Koritskas relationship with Ernst Abbe, they could use the Zeiss patents to produce microscope and lenses with the German brands technology. In 1919 part of the Koritska factory was acquired by the Officine Galileo of Florence as they wished to increase their production of optic lenses after World War I. In 1968 the Koritska brand disappeared.
