Rare antique French Lemardeley microscope made in France circa 1930, in very good condition and in its original storing case. The microscope mounts black-lacquered metal foot and brass parts, showing an excellent working order. The rack-and-pinion system moves smoothly and is very well preserved, providing an optimal sliding of the turret. The glossy black lacquer is in fine condition and shows scarcely any signs of wear. The same can be said about the double-sided mirror, original from the time, and the three-lens revolving nosepiece. The turret bears the engraved inscription LEMARDELEY & FILS PARIS MICRO-COOPER and the serial number 373. The solid-mahogany storing case contains three small drawers, perfecto to store the 2 eyepieces and 3 lenses (signed by the maker) provided with the microscope. The case is quite well preserved and keeps the original key, with the lock in working order. This rare antique French Lemardeley microscope will stand out on a desk, a shelf or as part of a good collection of ancient microscopes. Dimensions: Width: 5.51 in / 14 cm. Depth: 6.89 in / 17.5 cm. Height: 14.96 in / 38 cm.
