1880's Ariston Organillo of 24 notes, in Perfect Condition and Working. With Seven Records

Strikingly beautiful Ariston organette with 24 notes made of lacquered wood in 1880, in perfect condition and working order. This organette comes from Germany and has been fully restored in order to boast its magnificent original look. The wooden box preserves all its original parts and we can see the woods veneer through the glossy enameled finish that embellishes its surface. The mentioned finish, in a dark reddish brown color, is embellished by the classic white threads and volutes that usually adorn these pieces.The organette works perfectly and provides a loud and neat sound. The mechanism is in perfect condition and can play the tunes with all their shades. Ariston organettes were invented in the late 1800s and their mechanisms were used on many music boxes of different brands. Produced by Paul Ehrlich in Germany, they were available in 16, 19, 24 and 36 reed versions. The disks they usually played were made of punched zinc or thick cardboard, just like the ones that come with this nice model.At the front part of the wooden box we can see the name Ariston engraved and painted gold. Golden are also the tops edge, the cranks metal arm and the arm with the reeds.
