The box itself is made of solid cherry wood in quite good condition. The legs and the top covers edge are black-lacquered and so is the inside of the box. The wood is protected by a beautiful French-polished finish, well preserved and with a delicate satin glow. At the front of the box we can see the silvery screws and washers that attach the inner mechanism to the wooden structure. If we lift the cover we will reach the mechanism that lets the user play the tunes a delicate set of gears as precise as a clock.
