Evocative automaton singing bird in a brass and enamel cage, made in Germany around 1930. The mechanism is in full working order and it is very easy to use: when the small key on the base (marked with an S) is turned the bird starts singing, moving its beak and shaking it tail. The little automaton is located into a cage, beautifully made, and is seated on a nest made of fabric flowers. The bird is made of authentic feathers, dyed in different colors. Although it shows some signs of use and age, this beautiful piece is in good condition and full working order, being an article full of vintage charm. Automaton birds are typical of countries like France, Germany and above all, Switzerland, the birthplace of cuckoo clocks. These delicate toys were very popular between 1910 and 1930, being customary decoration pieces. In this case, this lovely bird and its cage are perfect to keep on cheering the most exclusive collection of curious antiques. Automaton measurements: 320 cm height x 180 cm width. Weight : 860 g.
