Nostalgic and antique music box in perfect working order and in amazing condition. This piece was made in Switzerland for the English market and is dated circa 1890. The music box contains three delicate automaton butterflies made of enameled metal, very well preserved and in optimal working order. This article can play ten complete tunes and works wonderfully it preserves all its original component parts in good condition, even the metal comb with all its teeth. The box is made of solid walnut wood with delicate inlaid lightwood stripes decorating its outside. The wood is very well preserved and has been carefully restored so as to shine in all its glory. Outside it boasts a great French-polish finish while the inside surfac, the covers edge and the legs are lacquered in black. Protecting the mechanism we can see a glass and wood lid through which we can see the delicate movement of the enameled-metal butterflies. The inner side of the cover has a big colorful printed label stack to the wood. It is decorated with romantic-style gallant scenes and bears the titles of the tunes written in the middle. Among them we can find timeless classics such as Auld Lang Shine (the song for the New Years Eve) or Comin Thru the Ray (the tune that inspired the famous novel The Catcher in the Rye by J. D. Salinger). The label is gorgeous and remains in great condition, providing the box with beauty and interest. Its awesome sound, the movement of the lovely automaton butterflies and the ancient age of this wonderful music box turn it into an exclusive and exceptional piece.
