Small antique music box more than one hundred years old, in great condition and in working order. The box is dated in the late 19th century, it is made of solid wood, combining two hardwood species which create quite an attractive effect. The box preserves the original pin drum and comb and can play four melodies whose titles are written by hand in the paper sheet attached to the inner side of the cover. Inside the box, the mechanism is protected by a glass lid with black-lacquered wooden frame that lets us see how it works. The design of this piece is sober and elegant. The box itself is made of solid walnut wood with rosewood corners. The cover shows the same combination: a frame of four mitered rosewood pieces around a rectangular walnut piece. The covers edges are decorated and reinforced with brass strips. In general, the music box is in amazing condition. If we lift the cover, inside we will find a paper sheet with the name of the tunes written in an elegant lettering: 1. Excelsior Mazurka Marenio 2. Laura Valzer Millöcher 3. Rigoletto La Donna e Mobile Verdi 4. Stephanie Gavotte Gibulka Inside, the boxs cover bears a glossy black-lacquered finish and so does the inner glass lid that protects the mechanism. The lacquered finish is quite well preserves and looks shiny and dark. If we lift the glass lid we will reach the mechanism, where we can see the pin drum with the small pins that hit the combs teeth to create the musical notes. The comb itself is complete and in good condition. In order to make the mechanism work the user must wind it up by turning the key at the boxs base.
