The brand name is painted on the top cover with a beautiful graphic design decorated with the eagle and stylized lateral vegetal forms that make it aesthetically very beautiful, and clearly differentiate it from other types of machines. On the front of the lid attaches a small plate with: Peter Gielsdorf and underneath, in the same spelling as on the lid, the model number:7.These devices arose from the need to help blind people to read and write, and it was not until 1873 that the first typewriters capable of revolutionizing the world of work appeared. At the beginning, the typewriter had a decoration similar to that of sewing machines, and the carriage was retracted by operating a pedal similar to that of the latter. From the end of the 19th century and during most of the 20th century, typewriters were indispensable tools in commercial offices, as well as for almost all professional writers. In the first models of typewriters, two important defects remained to be solved: writing was done only with capital letters, and the writing remained hidden from the typist. Although the first visible typewriters were marketed around 1895, surprisingly, some antique models like this one continued to be manufactured until 1915.Adler Fahrradwerke Heinrich Kleyer AG was founded in 1880 by Heinrich Kleyer. The company first produced bicycles and, during the decade following its opening, sold around 100,000 bicycles. In 1901 the company expanded into the production of cars, motorcycles, aircraft engines, etc... The company acquired in 1896 the license of the Canadian Agency carrying out the typewriter "Empire" coming to produce about 3,000 pieces. In 1900 the company started the production of its own typewriter, the Adler Mod. 7, which became a real sales success, selling 50,000 copies in ten years! Adler typewriters became one of the most popular European typewriters. Their model 7, with the characteristic eagle perched on a bicycle wheel, will be a great commercial success. The Alder house will develop different and successful models until 1990, when the Italian company Olivetti takes over the company.Incredible German machine in perfect condition Truly beautiful!.
