Precious Ideal Model A2 typewriter from 1904. Undoubtedly this is an aesthetically very beautiful typewriter. It is one of the first models from Ideal. This machine clearly follows the Modernist Style of the time in the shape and in the lateral spelling which makes it a very decorative piece as well as functional. Composed of a beautifully crafted metallic black casing, the letters and logo of the well-known brand IDEAL stand out. The beautiful vegetal decorations on the cast iron side panels with the brand logo molded on them are striking and clearly differentiate it from other machines with much more conventional shapes. The beautiful yellow lacquered lettering follows the parameters of the modernist style with naturalistic and sinuous elements that remind us of the Parisian subway entrances. The names of the manufacturers appear in yellow lacquer on the front: Seidel and Naumann, Dresden, Germany. It is in good aesthetic and functional condition. It attaches a beautiful wooden case that allows a better transport and a perfect conservation of the piece. Also... Attach the original key! It comes with a copy of the instruction manual, in which appears a drawing of the genuine machine. These devices arose from the need to help people suffering from blindness to read and write, and it would not be until 1873 when the first typewriters capable of revolutionizing the world of work appeared. At the beginning, the typewriter had a decoration similar to that of sewing machines, and the carriage was retracted by operating a pedal similar to that of the latter. From the late 19th century and for much of the 20th century, typewriters were indispensable tools in business offices, as well as for almost all professional writers. Designers EE Barney and Frank Tanner succeeded in patenting their Frontstrike Ideal typewriter in 1897. The Ideal typewriter is a bulky machine that seems to fit perfectly into the German typewriter tradition. It is a very eye-catching machine, mainly because of the elaborate decorations on the side cast iron panels, with the brand logo. There were 4 models of the A Ideal, with various technical modifications between them. The A1 and A2, had refined molded side panels and the later models A3 and A4, even stood out for having greater detail in the side trim as seen in this example. The Modernist style of the late nineteenth century, early twentieth century will affect especially the decorative arts. The sinuous and naturalistic forms are tried to reach all types of pieces, hence it is so marked in the side panels and in the graphics of this piece. Beautiful piece of Modernist style perfect for decorating a room! Measures: 38 x 40 x 22 cm.
