Antique Contin model C typewriter made in Paris, France, circa 1935. It is a rare model, made in France for the German market, which has survived to oud days in amazing condition. The typewriter works smoothly and can be used to type documents, being also a decorative item. It shows a dazzling appearance: the black-lacquered finish which covers the metal body is in perfect condition, with no dents and looking as shiny and even as the first day. The same can be said about the beautiful decal over the carriage, with the Contin brand name in a modern golden lettering, and the inscription located under the keyboard (MODEL E.C. C28). Contin typewriters appeared in the market in 1922, produced by the Établissements Continsouza of Paris. Models A to D were sold in Europe between wars. The Contin typewriter was actually an Ideal D (a model produced by the German company Continental) rebadged. Curiously enough, in Spain a similar model was produced under the name Iberia. The one that we can see in the images has a German keyboard composed of black circular keys with metal reinforcement rings. It is complete and in excellent condition, both aesthetically and functionally. This rare antique Contin Model C typewriter will stand out in any room for its beauty and its amazing condition.
