Antique portable microscope made in Dessau, Germany circa 1900. This singular scientific instrument comes in its original storing case, made of light-colored solid mahogany wood and in good condition. The microscope is complete and in working order, and includes three old-time samples to be watched under the lens. The brass it is made of preserves the original protecting lacquer; the metal shows signs of wear, product of the trace of time and use, which does not interfere in the microscopes attractive look and provide it with an authentic feel. Bot the rack-and-pinion system and the double-sided mirror are well preserved the rack-and-pinion works well and moves smoothly. The mahogany box is in fine condition and mounts a series of inner wooden pieces designed to keep the microscope safe and stable. We can also see a stamped mark inside the lid with the inscription Whit. Specht Dessau Teichstrasse 261.
