Striking German microscope made by company Otto Seibert from Wetzlar in the 1920s. This beautiful and functional vintage instrument draws our attention because of its excellent condition and working order. It comes in its original wooden case with lock and key and comes with a set of samples and accessories from the era. All the microscopes components and parts are original and in great condition. The item is made of black enameled iron and brass part, boasting a nice and sober design that is enhanced by its undeniable functionality. At the top, just under the eyepiece we can see a silvery metal plate with the engraved manufacturers name and serial number 2498.Otto Seibert is a point of reference in the field of optical material, both in Germany and the rest of Europe and even at global level. The city where the factory was located, Wetlzar, also hosted other famous optical manufacturing companies such as Zeiss. Seibert microscopes are renowned for their excellent quality and operation. The firm is still present in Germany under the brand name Seibert Otto Wetzlar GmbH & Co.KG for the manufacturing of optical articles and instruments, optical products, laser optics and microscope objectives. This particular microscope has also a white label with the name Felix Kunze, and a monogram formed by this names initials. It is attached to the sample plate. This amazing instrument has a quadruple nosepiece (one of the lenses is quite small in size) and a micrometric system in the sample plate. This system has two screws that move the glass plates in the fore and aft directions, and from left to right too. This way the user can put the sample plate in the right place with no need of touching it with his or her fingers. As stated before, the microscope is stored in its original wooden case and comes with several vintage samples in a cardboard box. This incredible Seibert microscope is a witness to contemporary sciences history. Its great design and good working order turn it into a real museum piece. Measurements: Width: 180 mm.
