This beautiful piece is a cigar case in the shape of a vintage telephone, manufactured in Germany in the 1940s. Made of enameled and golden metal, it is in quite good condition and perfect working order. It is a rare and original article that as well as storing cigars is also a music box. The case is made of black-enameled metal sheet and is well preserved, while the dialing disk is made of golden metal and so are the slim details that adorn the box and the pieces simulating the microphone and receiver. The handset is connected to the case through a nice old gold colored plaited cord. This cigar cases working is quite simple: when picking up the phone the user listens to the tone produced by the music box, while when dialing the number a cigar appears through a hole located at the front right side. Beside this hole there is a small door that closes the compartment where the cigars are stored. Last but not least, the receiver also holds a nice gasoline lighter in perfect working order. At the back of the case we can see a metal key designed to wind up the music box.Under the dialing disk there is an old white sheet with the numbers printed in black. If we turn the piece upside down, at the base we will see a paper sticker with two printed inscriptions: Jouets Weber Franz Carl Weber. This striking music cigar case is a collector item, as surprising and decorative as when it was manufactured. It is a piece undoubtedly worthy of a connoisseur.Measurements: Width: 130 mm. Height: 100 mm.
