Before gramophones existed and before the invention of the phonograph by Thomas Alba Edison, the music that could be heard in homes came from music boxes or barrel organs. This is a Celestina 20 note portable barrel organ, made in New York in 1880 and in an extraordinary working condition, the melody is printed on perforated paper and is interchangeable. Only one roll is available. As can be seen in the photos, the unit is in excellent condition. The wood is solid chestnut and has decorations in light tones. Inside you can still find the instructions for use. The size of the unit is 40 cm in height, 36 cm in front and 34 cm in depth. It sounds very good.
