Extraordinary antique 18K gold fusee pocket watch signed by William Bent at the case and the movement. The watch was made in London in 1875, as indicated by the hallmarks at the inner side of the rear cap and the ring. As well as the year hallmark, we can identify the mark of London gold, the one for English gold and the golds carats (18). The watch works fine and remains in great condition: the white dial with black Roman numerals, simple and elegant, shows no hairlines or flaws. The dial mounts cobalt blue metal poire hands, a color which makes a perfect match with the warm shade of the gold. It includes a secondary hand. The casing has a gorgeous hand-engraved gold rear cap; the decoration shows a central non-engraved shield and a complicate crown of volutes and flowers delicately engraved. Inside it hides the hallmarks stated before and the serial number 15612, which can also be seen at the dustcap and the movement. The dustcap is made of gold-plated metal and bears the engraved inscription William Bent London E.C. and the serial number. If we remove it we will discover the beautiful movement, embellished with hand-engraved volutes. Just like the dustcap, it bears the engraved watchmakers name and the serial number. It includes the following inscription too: Chronometer MAKER TO the ADMIRALTY. This extraordinary antique 18K gold pocket watch signed by William Bent is a real collectors piece, as beautiful as special. Dimensions: Width: 51 mm. Weight: 137 g.
