This pocket watch is a real rarity, a collectors item made in Zaragoza (Spain) in the late 19th century (circa 1870). Its great beauty, good condition and great working order turn it into a very special piece. The movement has been fully revised and adjusted, and the watch is signed and has hallmarks inside. The front cap has a flat shield in the center, designed to be engraved with the owners initials or maybe a dedicatory. Under it, the nice metal face is profusely adorned with golden details and flowery motives engraved in the center, just at the point where the hands are screwed. The face has Roman numbers and a secondary hand.If we lift the rear cap, inside we will find the serial number 32875 and a hallmark with the letters PD. There is another hallmark with the word ARGENT that guarantees that the watch is made of sterling silver. When we lift this cap we will discover the wonderful dustcap that protects the movement: it is a piece engraved with volutes and a series of inscriptions in different kinds of letters, all of them classic in style and skillfully performed. The inscriptions read: HECHO POR MARIANO LUÑO ZARAGOZA ESCAPE DE ANCORA 15 RUBIES. (Made by Mariano Luño Zaragoza Anchor Escapement 15 rubies). This cap also has two holes designed to put the original key inside: one of them is intended to wind up the watch, and the other to set it. The key and the chain are both original from the era. If we lift the dustcap we will reach the watchs movement, also signed with the following inscription: HECHO POR MARIANO LUÑO (made by Mariano Luño). One more detail that provides this striking antique pocket watch with authenticity and charm. The rarity of this wonderful watch and its undeniable quality turn it into a piece worthy of the best collector.Measurements: Width: 50 mm.
