Antique 18K gold quarter-repeating pocket watch with chronometer, made in Switzerland circa 1880 and in really good condition. This a really beautiful piece, complete and functional, with a classic timeless design which seems not to be affected by the trace of time. The gold case is adorned with a guilloche decoration, which can be appreciated on both caps. The case has a small bun at the bottom, next to the hinge. It is in the photos. The front cap includes a central shield, ready to be engraved with the owner’s initials. Under this cap we find the amazing dial, with Louis XV gilt hands and black Roman numerals and in outstanding condition. At the cap’s inner side, we can see the 18K gold mark and the number 726, which is completed (78726) at the rear cap and the dustcap. At its front side, the dustcap shows four engraved medals corresponding to four prizes awarded to the manufacturer. We can also see the inscription MEDAILLE D’OR 1895 and the word RÉPÉTITION, related to the quarter-repeating movement. This is also in excellent condition, having been cleaned and fine-tuned in order to provide a good performance, up to the watch’s quality.
