Extraordinary solid gold pocket watch, in an amazing state of preservation, with no or few signs of use or wear despite its 124 years of age. The watch case is 14k solid gold and is of a large size, measuring 50mm not counting the crown and 64 counting it. It is in fantastic condition with floral decorations on the flange that catch the light with brilliant sparkles. It closes and opens perfectly with a maximum opening of 90º.The dial is porcelain and has Roman numerals. It is signed by Waltham, as well as the machinery, and does not have the slightest kiko, hair or flaw. The watch weighs 99 grams and, as I say, shows zero wear from use or age. The crown is almost as good as new. The crown bow is firm and equally in a semi-new condition. The movement is from the 1872 model and works perfectly and is decorated with waters that reflect the light in different ways depending on how it hits it. It is also signed and in a fantastic state of preservation. It is a 15-jewel movement. The serial number is 2280216 and belongs to a series of only 300 examples manufactured by Waltham in 1884 (information obtained from the official Waltham website). Only 5910 machines of the 1872 model were manufactured by Waltham, of which possibly only 10-15% of them are in working order today, most of them in private collections. As few as a handful will be preserved in such fantastic condition as this watch.
