Stunning white porcelain vase with a stylized shape and decorated by hand with an attractive color palette. This piece comes from China, where it was originally made in the early 20th century (circa 1920). The porcelain is greatly preserved; the only flaws that we can find are some slight dents at the base. These dents can only be seen if we turn the vase upside down. Otherwise the rest of the porcelain is in excellent condition. The vase shows a long and narrow neck that ends in a wider mouth. It is a balanced and fine design that combines greatly with the hand-painted decoration. The front side shows a scene with three figures dressed in traditional clothes: a classy woman that smiles while watching two small boys playing around her. One of the boys encircles the woman with a floating ribbon and holds a fan with his left hand. The second character is bowing down to the lady. The scene is painted with different colors: turquoise blue, magenta, orange, green, dark red The colors are outlined with slim black strokes that provide the figures and the objects with depth. The scene shows some charming details, such as the small animal (probably a dog or a cat) that sits at the ladys feet and turns its back to the viewer. At the back of the vase, a poem written with black ink covers part of the surface.Measurements: Width: 7 in / 18 cm. Height: 17.3 in / 44 cm.
