Lovely Chinese vase made of fine porcelain in the 19th century. The vase shows a nice and harmonious shape and is crowned by a cylindrical cover. The whole surface of the item is decorated with colorful floral and mythological designs, typically Chinese. The variety and depth of the colors which cover the vases surface are very remarkable, and so is the motives dynamism. In the vase we can see three mythological animals among the paintings; Chinese dragons painted in bright colors: there is a red dragon, a violet one and a yellow one. They are painted on a dark gold background, full floral motives. The drawings are all engraved in the porcelain, sketched in black and carefully painted in a great variety of colors. The flowers, the lions and the abstract designs show colors in different shades to create a sense of depth. A good artist reveals him or herself in the decoration of this vase. If we turn it upside down we can see the Qianlong stamp, an imperial stamp which was common in Emperor Qianlongs era (1736 1795), although the vase does not belong to that era. It is, nevertheless, a wonderful art work in porcelain, and a really ancient item. The cover that crowns the vase, shutting its mouth, is also finely engraved, golden and colored, matching the piece. This cover has been rebuilt after breaking at some point, and the pieces have been glued together and there is no one missing. The rest of the vase is in very good condition: the colors look alive and as bright as the first day and there are no broken or worn parts, or lacks of paint or material. The beauty of this wonderful Chinese vase will be the finishing touch of an elegant living room, turning undoubtedly into a real eye-catcher because of its distinction, elegance and ancient age. Measurements: 290 mm width x 390 mm height.
