Elegant Tavannes Solid Silver Pocket Watch. 1920. Contrasting and Functioning

This beautiful watch is in excellent condition and runs like the first day, having been thoroughly overhauled and adjusted. The watch bears several contrasts, indicating the quality and origin of the silver with which the case is made. It is presented in its original case and is an article of great beauty and precision, worthy of the best collector.On the white dial of the watch, with black Arabic numerals, is printed the name of the manufacturer: TAVANNES WATCH & Co. This company was founded in 1891 in the Swiss town of the same name, and in 1895 they began collaborating with Schwob Frères & Co. to manufacture repeater watches and chronographs. By 1909, the company was producing an average of 750,000 watches a year; by 1910 it was already the most important factory in the country. Today the firm is still in business and is a benchmark in luxury watches. This delicate pocket watch is a good example of the quality of the company's products.The dial features golden lattice hands and lower seconds hand. Above it, the pendant appears properly contrasted. The back cover is hand carved with net background and smooth central shield, and inside it appear the different contrasts, the name and logo of the firm Tavannes Watch & Co and the serial numbers 4576 - 924263 - C. Under it, in the dust cover we can see the different medals won by the firm throughout its history, as well as the name of the manufacturer and some information about the machinery. The inside of this cover also bears the contrasts and the serial number.
