Beautiful antique pocket watch with solid-silver casing, made in Germany in the early 20th century (circa 1900).The watch is stylish and classy, and is decorated with a fine rear hand-engraved motive. The case is made of solid silver (0,800) except for the gold-plated metal dustcap. The movement has been fully cleaned and tuned so we can state that today the watch works perfectly. The rear cap bears a signature inside, a name engraved by hand in Gothic lettering. It reads: Alvin Clemens Steinarch, probably the name of a former owner of the watch. The watchs front side is gorgeous. Framing the glass that protects the face we can see the silver casing decorated with a hand-engraved motive. This detail, just like the crown, has been delicately gold-plated in order to make a delightful contrast with the lean silver. The face is made of white porcelain and remains well preserved, showing only a slight hairline scarcely visible. The face bears black Roman numbers and mounts delicate coppery-metal hands. It also bears a secondary hand a black Arab numbers for the minutes. The rear cap is also quite attractive. It is decorated with a hand-engraved image depicting a horse galloping through the countryside. Inside it bears the name stated before and different hallmarks: the silversmiths mark (with a heart and a bow with arrows), the silver proportion (a shield containing the letters HHH and the number 0,800), the mark for German silver (a half moon and a crown), the word GALONNE, the number 34 and the serial 29144. This serial number is repeated inside the dustcap. As elegant as sober, this antique solid-silver pocket watch is a timeless jewel that will add a very special touch to the most stylish garment. Measurements: Width: 43 mm. Height (with Crown): 57 mm.
