Stylish and sober antique pocket watch with chronometer, made is Switzerland circa 1920. The watch was manufactured by Biland and remains in good condition. The movement has been fully cleaned and tuned so today the watch and the chronometer work perfectly. This piece has a steel casing with white face protected by the original antique glass. The watchs face bears black Arab numbers and straight cobalt-blue metal hands. At the top we can see the chronometer or stopwatch, and under the hands there is a secondary hand. The steel casing is simple and functional. The rear cap is lean with no decoration at all. Its surface shows slight signs of wear due to the trace of time and use, a detail that provides the watch with a very special personality. The crown, the ring, the hinge and the slim ring that frames the watchs face are made of golden metal, and these fine details enhance the sober design of the watch. The movement bears the serial number 315702 engraved in the metal. Otto Biland Watches History Otto BILAND was a Swiss manufacturer located in Saint-Imier (Sankt Immer in German). He founded his company in 1906. His watches were known for their high quality and he received a Gold Medal at the Swiss National Exhibition in Berne in 1914. The company was listed in 1920, plus an ad for precision instruments, tachometers, timers, speedometers, watchmen's watches and counters for cars and aeroplanes.
