Antique solid-silver pocket watch chain made in Birmingham, England in 1909. The chain is in excellent condition and bears a series of hallmarks which testify for its origin, quality and ancient age. It is complete and keeps all its original component parts. At one end we find a shield-shaped silver charm with a frame of laurel leaves and embossed center. The central shield is golden (probably made of gold-plated silver) and bears no engraved inscriptions. At the back of the shield we can see the stated hallmarks: the one for the city of Birmingham, a lower-case k letter indicating the year of manufacture (1909) and the silversmiths mark. The chain itself is composed of simple circular links, separated in groups by bigger engraved-silver pieces. It also bears a T-bar designed to connect the chain to the owners vest, hexagonal in cross-section and decorated with tiny engraved motifs. Any lover of antique silver pieces will appreciate the beauty and harmony of this antique solid-silver pocket watch chain, complete and with hallmarks. Dimensions: Length: 14.57 in / 37 cm. Weight: 32.5 g.
