Beautiful antique French verge-fusee pocket watch Guérin à Lille, made circa 1820 and in very good condition. It works really fine and shows a delicate and elegant design, which today still amazes us because of its modern look. The case is made of gilt metal; the front cap is made of glass and the rear cap bears a fine classic guilloche decoration. The dial has a central circular window which lets us see part of the movement. Around this gap, the black Roman numerals are distributed on a white porcelain circular band. The watch mounts cobalt-blue metal diamond-style hands. The rear cap has an inner inscription in capital letters, perfectly legible: CRIZO. Under this cap, the stylish movement has the hand-engraved name of the watchmaker, Guérin à Lille, in a fine-looking cursive lettering.
