Important Junghans Pendulum Clock, made circa 1880-1890. In perfect working order and with hour and half-hour chime. It consists of a decorative wooden case with baroque architectural features, divided into two main registers, flanked by columns and with an undulating upper cornice. The turned columns frame the clock on the central sides, and clearly connect with the upper pinnacles, undoubtedly enhancing the decoration of this stupendous piece. The upper cornice, framed by two lateral pinnacles, appears decorated with a central chimera flanked by two vegetal waves. The cornice is crowned by a beautiful carving, in darker wood, of a horse on vegetal forms. The clock has a simple off-white dial with Roman numerals enameled in black, and central pike hands. The enamel is in a good state of preservation and also attaches the Junghans brand logo in the center, attesting to its originality. The precious rod pendulum consists of a simple spherical lens decorated with a delicate spherical fluting. It has an 8-day movement with hour and half-hour chiming. Both the dial and machinery are signed with the eight-pointed star and the spelling of the brand: JUNGHANS, brand used from 1880. It is in good condition, although the wood of the case has some marks of antique woodworm, already treated and restored. The mechanism has been checked and is practically like new, perfect for marking the hours from the first minute. Original and genuine Junghans clock! Measurements: 100 x 40 cm
